Personal word list

Keep the words you look up most in one place, and give each one a short code. Phones and computers can expand a code into the full word as you type, so you spell it once and never look it up again.

No words yet. Add the ones you look up most.

Saved in this browser only. Pick codes that are not real words, so they never expand by accident.

How to use it

  1. Add each word you looked up or felt unsure about this week.
  2. Each word gets a suggested code (the first letters plus q). Change any code to something you will remember that is not a real word.
  3. Copy the shortcuts and add them to your keyboard settings, or print the list and keep it near your desk.

Adding shortcuts to your devices

iPhone, Mac, Android keyboards and Windows tools all support some form of text replacement. The step-by-step guide below covers each one.
