Focus reader
Paste any text, then read it one line at a time. Make the text bigger, add space between lines, shorten the line length, and have it read aloud with each sentence highlighted. Free, no sign-up, and nothing you paste leaves your device.
Stays on your device. Nothing you paste is sent or saved.
How to use it
- Paste an email, document or web page text into the box and press Start reading.
- Set text size, line spacing and line length until it feels comfortable. Shorter lines mean less distance for your eyes to travel back.
- Move the focus line with the arrow keys, the buttons, or by clicking a line. Turn Line focus off to see the whole text at full strength.
- Press Read aloud from here to hear the text from the current line, and change the voice speed to suit you.
Good to know
Line focus and read-aloud are comfort settings. Some people find them helpful and some do not, and research on reading tools is mixed. Try it on a real document and judge it for yourself. The voice comes from your browser or device, so voices differ between phones and computers.
The same features are built into many devices. See the guides below to set them up system-wide.
